About HealthCostHub

HealthCostHub is an independent reference for healthcare costs in the United States: procedure prices, insurance plan math, HSA / FSA / CareCredit financing, dental cost, and your federal billing rights under the No Surprises Act. No clinic ties, no insurer affiliations, no paid placement.

What we do

We translate the things that are usually hidden — insurer-negotiated rates, hospital chargemasters, plan rule complexity, financing fine print — into plain-English explainers and working calculators. Three questions drive most of what people search for:

• What will I actually pay? Procedure cash price vs. allowed amount vs. your deductible/coinsurance/OOP max.
• How should I pay? HSA vs. FSA vs. CareCredit vs. Cherry/Walnut/Sunbit vs. personal loan vs. cash.
• What are my rights when a bill arrives? No Surprises Act, balance billing, Good Faith Estimate, charity care, dispute processes.

What we don't do

HealthCostHub does not diagnose, treat, prescribe, recommend providers, or accept paid placement from hospitals, dentists, insurers, or financing companies. We're not licensed clinicians, not attorneys, and not financial advisors. Always verify costs directly with your provider, insurer, or financing partner; always consult a licensed clinician for medical decisions.

How we gather data

Three sources, in order of weight:

1. Federal price-transparency files. CMS rules (effective Jan 1, 2021) require hospitals to publish machine-readable files of their negotiated and cash prices. We decode and aggregate these for cost ranges.
2. Government data. CMS, HHS, IRS, Department of Labor — primary sources for HSA/FSA limits, NSA rules, state insurance regulations.
3. Brand-published terms. Direct from CareCredit, Cherry, Walnut, Sunbit, Sedera, Medi-Share, healthcare lenders — for APRs, eligibility, and program rules.

Editorial

Editor: Shirley Chia. Every article includes a last-updated date and links to the primary sources used. Calculators include the formulas they apply and the assumptions behind each input. We correct errors promptly; if you find one, write us at info@healthcosthub.com.

How we make money

HealthCostHub is supported by display advertising and affiliate commissions on financing products (medical financing platforms, dental discount plans, healthsharing memberships, insurance marketplaces) we independently review. We disclose affiliate relationships on every page that contains an affiliate link. Affiliate revenue does not influence which products we cover or how we rate them.

Independence

HealthCostHub has no ownership stake in, employment relationship with, or paid sponsorship from any insurer, hospital system, dental chain, financing company, or healthsharing ministry. When we recommend or critique a specific brand, it's based on publicly verifiable terms.
